The Common Entrance Test (CET) 2005 will commence on Tuesday with 87,020 students from across the State taking the test at 182 centres. The test, for admission to government quota seats in BE, MBBS and BDS courses, is open only to Karnataka students this year.
Over 2,000 students are appearing under the Horanadu or Gadinadu Kannadiga categories. In Bangalore alone, over 21,000 students will be appearing for the test at 48 centres.
With the test in the optional subjects of biology (10.30 am to 11.50 am) and maths (2.30 pm to 3.50 pm) scheduled for Tuesday, students may write either of the two subjects, depending on whether they aspire for admission to engineering or medical and dental courses.
Of course, they may write both if they have not made up their minds on what course of career to opt for. Wednesday’s tests in physics and chemistry are compulsory for both the streams.
This year the cell has made arrangements to issue duplicate hall-tickets to students at the exam venues. “Students do not need to panic if they have lost their hall-tickets. All they need to do is carry their photos,” said the CET cell official.
The deputy chief superintendants (principals of exam centres) are authorised to cross-check the photo as against that on the nominal rolls sent by the cell and issue a duplicate ticket on the spot,” said the official.
All this for the year means that things would be a lot smoother than the previous 2-3 years which really spelt havoc in the minds of those aspiring to take the Karnataka CET. Now, there are also different schemes against KCET like the Comed- K etc. But all in all, the CET has now pacified.

Here comes the confusion.
I advice study hard and get thru JEE instead of this pain :P
Actually hope things will improve over time. But i fear the population of India and the competition.
